अमरकथा क्रमश:
एक समय भगवान श्री सदाशिव श्री गणेश जी को दोनों ड्योढ़ियों का द्वारपाल बनाकर आप स्थलबाद को चले गये थे। वहां पर थोड़ी देर ठहर कर खिल्यायन से ऊपर दण्डक मुनि के आश्रम जाकर विश्राम करने लगे। वहां देवता आये, भगवान सदाशिव ने कहा- “ आगे मत बढ़िये ।”इस शब्द को सुनकर गणेश जी पाताल देश से आए और उन्होंने भी यही शब्द कहे और इस शब्द से फिर देवता भगवान श्री सदाशिव मे लीन हो गए। अत: फिर यह ग्राम ‘मामल’ के नाम से प्रसिद्ध हुआ। भगवान श्री सदाशिव ने श्रीगणेश जी से कहा तुम “मामल” शब्द सुनकर पाताल से यहाँ आये हो अत: दीर्घकाल तक यहाँ ठहरो और समस्त विघ्नों को दूर करो।
At once, God Shiva made sentinel to Shree Ganesh of both doors and went to sthalabaad. He stay at Sthalabaad for some time and then went to Dandak saint’s ashram above the Khilyaan and take rest. God came there. God Sadaashiv said – “Do not proceed further”. Shree Ganesh came from underworld to heard this word and repeated the same. Then God absorbed in Sadashiv from this word. So, that place is renowed as “Maamal” . God Sadaashiv said to Shree Ganesh that you came here to heard word “maamal”. So, stay here for long and get rid off all obstacles.
