अमरकथा क्रमश:
एक बार भगवान श्री सदाशिव जी महाराज श्री कार्तिक स्वामी के साथ क्रीड़ा कर रहे थे कि उक्त गण को निद्रा आ गई और भगवान श्री सदाशिव जी महाराज का संध्या काल व्यतीत हो गया। इससे भगवान श्री सदशिवजी महाराज के क्रोध का कोई पारावार ना रहा और उन्होंने उक्त गण को श्राप दिया कि वह शिला रूप होकर देर तक वहां ठहरे। वह गण काँपता हुआ भगवान श्री सदाशिव महाराज की सेवा में उपस्थित हुआ, लेकिन भगवान ने उसको क्षमा नहीं किया लेकिन यह जरूर कहा कि जो यहां पर मेरे (श्री अमरनाथ जी के) के दर्शन के लिए आएग, वह पहले तुम्हारी पूजा तथा परिक्रमा करेगा। हे देवी ! उस दिन से महाडमारक गण रत्न नामक शिखर पर पाषाण रूप होकर रहता है और जो मनुष्य उसका पूजन करता है वह शिवधाम को प्राप्त होता है। यात्रीको चाहिए कि श्र्रवनी के दिन प्रात: काल भैरों घाटी की यात्रा करते हुए चोटी पर डमारक की षरण में पहुँचे। डामरेश्वर भैरव का दर्शन और भक्ति सहित पूजन कर व्रत की जोत जलाये और मालपुओं तथा लड्डुओं का भोग लगाये।
At once, Shree Saadashiv were playing with Shree Kaartik and he told his Gan to informed him at evening.But that Gan fall asleep and Shree Sadaashiv’s evening time passed. Shree Sadaashiv get angried to know that his evening passed and he cursed that Gan to transformed in rock and stay for long at that place.That Gan came infront of Shree Sadaashiv . He did not forgave that Gan and said whoever came here to visit me (Shree Amaranaath), will first do worship, circumambulate and visit to you.
O Devi!Since that day, Mahadamaarak Gan situated in a form of rock at the peak of this mountain. Those people who worship that rock will get Shiv- Dhaam.
Travellers should have to reach at shelter of Damarak during travel of Bhairo Valley in the morning of Shrawani day. Visit Damaarak bhairava, worship devotionally, offer maalapua,laddu as a bhog and light lamp.
