अमरकथा क्रमश:
पूर्व काल में एक बार भगवान श्री सदाशिव महाराज ताण्डव- नृत्य कर रहे थे और नृत्य करते समय उनका जटाजूट ढीला हो गया और उसमे से फिर पंचतरनी गंगा निकली जो महापापों को दूर करने वाली है।
जो मनुष्य आलस्य रहित इस पंचतरनी नदी में स्नान करता है, वह ब्रह्म-हत्या आदि घोर पाप से मुक्त हो जाता है। यहां पर स्नान करने वालों को वही फल मिलता है जो कुरुक्षेत्र, प्रयाग, नैमिषारण्य में स्नान तथा दान करने से प्राप्त होता है।
हे सुंदरी ! यदि इस तीर्थ पर गऊ, वस्त्र, चन्दन, केसर, अगर, कस्तुरी आदि ब्राह्मण को दान दिए जायें तो यात्री को शिवधाम की प्राप्ति होती है। इसके पश्चात् ऊँची चोटी वाले पहाड़ पर चढ़ कर डमारक देवता के दर्शन करने चाहिए।
In ancient time, Bhagwaan Sadaashiva were performing Taandav dance and his tress get loose due to dance. And the panchatarani ganga flowing out from the tress. Panchatarani Ganga is the remover of all big siins.
Those people who take bath without lethargy, which becomes free from sin of Brahm-slaughter etc. People get similar reward to take bath at this place which they get to take bath and charity at Kurukshetra, Prayag, Naimishaaranya.
O Devi! If people donate cow, clothes, sandalwood, saffron, agar, musk etc. to Brahman then they get Shiv- dhaam. After that, visit Damaarak God to climb highest peak of mountain.
